These Visual Journal entries show my understanding of Standard II: Visual Arts Educators Understand Student Characteristics, Abilities, and Learning Styles. The first piece does this by showing my understanding of accommodations, modifications, least restrictive environment and many more terms and practices used to ensure inclusive education for students with special needs. The second piece shows my understanding of many disabilities that may cause a student to need special education services. In understanding that each child is different in their learning abilities helps me to know how to help a child based on their disability. The final piece shows my ability to work on the understanding of a specific learning need, if a child with an IEP comes to me I understand how to do research and speak with the special education director to modify my lessons or accommodate to their needs.
