Art has always been something that relaxes and interests me. Whether it be through introduction art classes in elementary and middle school or high school photography and ceramics classes. It took me a while to realize that it's something that I am good at, something I want to spend all of my time doing. I have spent a lot of time trying to find a single material that I prefer to work in. After trying to find a single one I realized that I didn’t need a single material and that I can move from material to material with my art. I tend to work most in clay but enjoy paint just as much and like to experiment with many materials.
In my art, I like to keep part of myself even if an assignment doesn't call for it. I like to add bright colors and feminist statements to my pieces no matter the material. I like to make work that will make people either think deeply about their experiences or make them laugh along with me. If a piece makes me feel something I generally hope to share that feeling with my viewer.
