This page shows my understanding of the 5th standard, Visual Arts Educators Use Knowledge of Students as Learners to Plan Appropriate Instruction.  The first piece is from my visual journal, it shows my understanding of teaching students of all cultural backgrounds. While this piece shows my understanding of different cultures, races, and ethnicities, I feel comfortable in my understanding of different learning styles also. The second piece shows my understanding of the inequity in schools and life for children of color and children in poverty. This is important to me, to learn about the individuality of the students in my classroom and tailor my teaching to suit their needs, understanding and life experiences.
